What is Outward Bound?

Founded by Dr. Kurt Hahn in 1941

It was based on the experiences of the "Atlantic War" during World War II and the formulation of "Modern Declines" (Decline in physical strength, initiative, reflection/compassion, skills, discipline and memory/immigration)

"Outward Bound" is a nautical term to describe a ship leaving the safety of its harbor to head for the vast open seas without knowing the challenges it will face such as storms and etc

There is more to us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for less

History

of Outward Bound Brunei Darussalam

In 1996, OBBD Centre was handed by Brunei Shell Marketing as main sponsor of OBBD to The Ministry Culture, Youth & Sports.

In 1998, OBBD Center was awarded a "License/Temporary Membership" by the International Outward Bound.

In 1999, OBBD Centre is fully operational.

In 2001, OBBD Center was awarded the "Full License/Membership" by the International Outward Bound
